Hello! First of all, I would like to thank my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Yollis, for giving me the opportunity to have my own blog. I hope that one day it will be as amazing as my teacher's blog, Mrs. Yollis' Classroom Blog and Yollis' 366 Project. I can not wait to start blogging and meeting new friends through my new blog. In this blog, I will tell you about some of my favorite places in the world, things I love to do like art, or even books I love to read. I hope you come visit often and join in on the conversation. I'd appreciate it!
I have a plethora of things you might want to know about me, and I look forward to sharing them with you.
My favorite colors are purple and black. I like them because I love dark colors.

Dear Sophie Reads,
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific blog you have put together! I think you are going to enjoy having a blog.
One idea I have for you is to publish some of your fabulous stories! You are a remarkable writer, and I would love for you to share. Maybe draw up some illustrations for your stories to complement them. I know you have artistic talent as well. What do you think of that idea?
I share many of your interests and hobbies. One of my favorite activities is swimming. When I am at Pelican Lake, Minnesota, I am in the water throughout the day. My swimming buddy, Buck, is right there with me! Do you ever swim in freshwater lakes or the ocean or do you prefer a pool?
Your proud teacher,
Mrs. Y♥llis
Dear Mrs. Yollis,
DeleteFirst of all, thank you for commenting on my new blog! You asked me if I wanted to publish some of my stories, and complement them with illustrations. I love that idea, and yes, I would love to do that!
Also, for your other question it depends on whether the water is hot or cold. If it is cold, then I usually do not go in the water, but I prefer it when the water is just right. As for when it is hot, then I also usually will not go in the water either. However, not any body of water is too hot (except for a bathtub). I will go in a pool instead of a freshwater lake or the ocean.
Which one do you prefer?
Love,
Sophie Reads
Hello Sophie Reads,
ReplyDeleteAs I read your first Post, I was happy to see you made good use of "plethora". As you would kow, it means an overabundance, i.e. very many things. Welld one.
What are my interests? That would be so hard to list as there is truly a plethora from which to choose. Currently, I have been exploring trails in local national parks and taking photos of anything I find interesting althoug mostly animals. I publish the photos on my Google+ page.
Are they similar to yours?
My favourite colour.. perhaps blue although I love golden sunsets and dark, looming greys of storm clouds.
Swimming... I can but I am a hiker and love walking with camera in hand
favourite animal... Whatever I'm trying to photograph although I do like some of our small marsupials and spiders
Favourite food... Not long ago I might have said chocolate but I gave it up about six weeks back and now like fresh fruits and melons as well as nuts and dried fruits. When hiking, my lunch is usually a bottle of water with nuts and dried fruits.
Favourite school subject... I liked most but probably my favourite would be science. I had run Gould League and Double Helix Science clubs at one time.
Keep blogging and sharing with the world.

Dear Ross Mannell,
DeleteFirst of all, I feel lucky that you commented on my new blog. Thank You!
By reading your post I see that you take interest in taking photos of nature. I did not take pictures a while ago, but now I am taking more of them. However, my dad is a great photographer, but he takes photos of his kids (me and my brother and my sister).
I love it that you still comment on new student blogs (like mine) and you are a retired teacher! I think that doing that is kind and you can get to meet other bloggers.
Did you ever have your own blog? If so what was it called and what did you blog about? I hope you comment again soon.
Love,
Sophie Reads
Hi Sophie,
ReplyDeleteI like your kitten. That is a really cute one! Do you have a real kitten at home?
My interests are: photography and football. And by "football", I do mean the real football as the rest of the world understands it (i.e. 6+ billion people) and not how Americans understand it (i.e. less than 350 million people).
Photography is obviously an ongoing thing, and football (soccer) comes in spurts. Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to follow football on an ongoing basis, and there's just too much football to watch during the year. So I reserve my time for the World Cup, which comes around every 4 years only. And then time stands still. Don't bother talking to me during the 1 month when the WC is held, because Germany winning the cup for a 5th time is more important than anything else. 6+ billion people agree! (about the WC being important, not necessarily Germany winning ;)
Great blog and keep publishing. I agree with your teacher that you should publish some of your stories, because I'd love to read them!
Sincerely,
Samuel Writes
DeleteDear Sam Writes,
Sadly, I do not have a kitten at home, but I really want one. My mom will not get me one because she says " It is like having another child to take care of." Which basically means it is very hard to have a kitten (or any other kind of pet.) However, we do have fish at home, but they are not my favorite.
You said you liked football (soccer). WelI, is football your favorite sport? Also, what is your favorite team? I don't know that much about football, but after reading your post I learned some more facts about it.
Also, I am planing to comment and share some of my stories. So, be on the look out!
Love,
